Challenge Programmes
Tackling specific challenges facing adult learners in the UK.
To tackle specific challenges facing adult learners in the UK, especially those furthest from opportunity, we bring our funding, partnerships and advocacy workstreams together around a VocTech Challenge.
Every VocTech Challenge programme is focused on tackling an identified issue in vocational learning and designed to catalyse systemic change. We approach our challenge programmes with an open mind and a keen focus on identifying how Ufi can most effectively use its resources to make long-lasting change.
Our VocTech Challenge programmes shape our activity for years to come.
VocTech Together (2026)
Increasing the adoption of proven vocational technology.
Ufi’s £2.85 million programme designed to catalyse the adoption of vocational technology and transform skills development across the UK.
The programme brings organisations, employers, technologists and policymakers together around a shared challenge: to move from pockets of effective use to deeper, more confident adoption of VocTech at greater scale – so it delivers lasting value across the skills system.

Skills for an Economy in Transition (2023)
Accelerating the adoption and deployment of technology to help every adult in the UK get the skills they need for work.

Levelling up learning (2021)
Supporting adults to get the confidence they need to gain skills for work.
