VocTech Together Support Programme

Programme structure

The VocTech Together Support Programme runs over 10 weeks and is designed to guide you step-by-step from understanding your learning challenge through to planning your next steps. You’ll take part in a mix of:

  • Weekly online sessions led by experts
  • Practical activities to apply learning in your organisation
  • Peer sessions to share and learn with others
  • Regular one-to-one mentoring support

The programme builds over time, but you won’t follow a fixed path, you’ll revisit and refine your thinking as you go. To enable you to participate fully, organisations will receive grant funding of up to £10k on completion.

The programme is structured around three stages:

Session overview

Content will be adjusted as we progress through the programme together, ensuring the support we provide adapts to developing needs and understanding.

All weekly sessions take place on Monday mornings from 10:30 until 12 noon.

In addition, there will be weekly homework and opportunities for individual sessions with your mentors.

Pre-application workshops

Join a pre-application workshop to get a clear sense of the programme and what’s expected. You’ll start shaping your problem and strengthen your application. Explore how to apply.

Refining your problem and engaging stakeholders

In our first week we’ll set out the foundations for the programme.

  • Understand the programme and what’s expected
  • Strengthen your problem statement
  • Identify key stakeholders and their role
  • Start planning how to engage them

You’ll leave with a clearer, more focused problem and a plan for involving the right people.

Barriers and opportunities

Week 2 looks at barriers and opportunities, helping you understand what can impact the successful adoption of learning technologies.

  • Identify barriers to change and adoption
  • Explore opportunities to create impact
  • Use simple tools to structure your thinking
  • Start linking your work to potential benefits

You’ll begin to build a realistic picture of what it will take to make change happen.

Peer session: learning together

In week 3 we’ll work as a group to:

  • Share progress and challenges
  • Learn from others
  • Deepen understanding of key concepts

You’ll gain new perspectives and ideas to strengthen your approach.

Defining your needs and requirements

Week 4 focuses on helping to clarify what you actually need from your learning technology, before you consider choosing a solution.

  • Define your goals and success measures
  • Identify requirements and constraints
  • Explore how to gather and prioritise needs
  • Consider the role of stakeholders in shaping your approach

You’ll have a clearer, structured view of what you’re looking for.

Exploring the market and shortlisting options

In week 5 you’ll start to explore what’s available.

  • Research potential solutions
  • Test assumptions and refine requirements
  • Compare options against your needs
  • Create a shortlist of possible approaches

You’ll build confidence in identifying options that could work for your organisation.

Week 6 provides another opportunity to step back and reflect.

  • Get feedback from peers and mentors
  • Refine your approach

You’ll strengthen your decision-making before moving forward.

Planning and designing a pilot

In week 7 you’ll move from ideas to testing.

  • Decide what to test and why
  • Plan how your pilot will work
  • Identify what success looks like
  • Choose ways to gather evidence

You’ll be ready to test your approach in a structured and manageable way.

Buying, embedding and sustaining

Week 8 is focused on implementation.

  • Plan how to introduce and embed your solution
  • Understand practical considerations like procurement and setup
  • Consider how to support people to adopt it
  • Think about longer-term sustainability and scaling

You’ll understand what it takes to move from pilot to real-world use

Week 9 provides focused mentoring to help you complete your plan.

You’ll be supported to bring everything together.

Finalising your plan

In week 10 you’ll complete and submit your final plan.

  • Bring together everything you’ve developed
  • Finalise your approach and next steps
  • Share learning where relevant

You’ll leave with a clear, confident plan to take forward to support the adoption of learning technology in your organisation.

Offline

Mentor support

Throughout the programme, you’ll be supported by expert mentors with experience in areas including:

  • Learning design and delivery
  • Digital tools and platforms
  • Implementation and change management
  • Evaluation and impact

They will:

  • Provide one-to-one support
  • Help you reflect on your approach
  • Challenge and strengthen your thinking
  • Offer practical advice based on real experience

This is a crucial part of the programme, helping ensure you can apply what you learn in your own context.

What you’ll leave with

By the end of the programme, you will have:

  • A clearly defined problem and understanding of your learners and organisation
  • A structured approach to exploring and selecting technology
  • Experience of testing and evaluating potential solutions
  • A realistic, evidence-informed plan for implementation
  • Confidence to take your next step
