Evaluating our Impact

External evaluation and reflections on our work

Reflection and ongoing evaluation are embedded in how we work – from our theory of change through to our day-to-day activities.

Our approach is underpinned by being an agile, learning organisation that adapts and responds to changing needs.

We focus on measuring:

  • Impact at an organisational level
  • Impact at scale to improve learner outcomes
  • Impact across the vocational sector

“We have consistently made evaluation a priority to ensure our activities and tools have a positive impact for learners as well as the vocational sector more broadly. The ongoing evaluation of our work informs how we use our resources, funding and partnerships, and the focus of our advocacy.”

Our Evaluation Framework

To support the evaluation of our work we have developed an evaluation framework, aligning with our strategic objectives and Theory of Change.

For our latest external evaluation (Interim evaluation: 2020 – 2025, see below), the framework encompasses our grant funding, venture investment and strategic partnerships and summarises the outputs, outcomes and impact measures associated with our work.

We will continue to develop the framework to ensure it reflects our evolving programme of work.
