As part of the VocTech Challenge: Skills for an economy in transition, Ufi and Learning and Work Institute (L&W) are working with local stakeholders across the UK with expertise in education, employment and skills, to identify the key local barriers to adult participation in learning and consider what actions we can take to address those barriers together.

On the following pages we set out our work with partners in Hull.

Overview

Ufi and L&W are working with local partners in Hull to address barriers to adult learning, including mental health issues, access to learning, and language challenges, by developing and implementing tailored solutions.

Hull College and HEY! Volunteering aim to create 40 micro-credential courses focused on employability skills, leveraging AI and openaccess technologies to support learners, especially those with language barriers.
