Ufi celebrates ALT Award for Technology in Adult Education
Congratulations to Metaverse Learning for winning the Award for Technology in Adult Education at the ALT Awards 2025.
Metaverse Learning’s winning entry showcased their innovative use of Extended Reality to transform adult education across sectors including construction, healthcare, and ESOL. Working with over 60% of FE Colleges in the UK, their entry demonstrated real impact for learners; plastering apprentices achieved 100% completion rates, ESOL learners gained confidence through repeatable scenarios, and healthcare students strengthened critical thinking via realistic simulations.
“We’re delighted to celebrate Metaverse Learning as this year’s winner for the use of Technology in Adult Learning, whose innovative use of extended reality is transforming how adults learn. By creating immersive, hands-on experiences, virtual and augmented reality technologies can boost engagement, build confidence, and improve learning outcomes. It’s inspiring to see technology being used so effectively to help adults gain the confidence and practical skills they need to thrive.”
- Rebecca Garrod-Waters, CEO of Ufi VocTech Trust

The ALT Awards ceremony took place yesterday evening at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel as part of the Association for Learning Technologies’ Annual Conference.
The Award for Technology in Adult Education, delivered with Ufi as part of our Strategic Partnership, celebrates individuals and teams who are working innovatively with technology to help adults develop and improve their skills for work. It recognises those making a real difference in vocational education, using digital tools and approaches to address skills gaps and empower learners across diverse sectors.
The award was judged by Zoe Tierney, Learning Technologist at Burton & South Derbyshire College, Gabrielle Madders, Project and Partnerships Officer at Ufi, and David White, President of ALT.
We also congratulate the two other exceptional finalists:
