Ufi joins over 100 organisations committed to getting the nation learning
Ufi is proud to commit to the Get the Nation Learning campaign, founded by Learning and Work Institute (L&W).
This fast-growing movement brings together a diverse coalition of over 100 organisations, including Channel 4, the National Housing Federation, and the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. Together we are united in the mission to make the case for lifelong learning and create a future where everyone can access learning opportunities throughout their lives.
In joining the campaign, Ufi signed the Get the Nation Learning Charter, committing to:
- Recognising the many benefits of lifelong learning for people, society and the economy.
- Building a future where everyone can learn throughout life.
- Leading by example to get the nation learning.
“Lifelong learning is fundamental to individual opportunity and shared prosperity. By joining the Get the Nation Learning campaign, we’re signalling our commitment to breaking down the barriers that prevent people from accessing the learning they need. As part of Ufi’s mission, our aim is to open up access and create lasting outcomes for those furthest from opportunity. This partnership demonstrates our determination to build on that work and help create a nation where everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, can access the learning that will transform their lives and careers.”
- Anthony Painter, Director of Strategic Engagement at Ufi

This milestone comes during Get the Nation Learning Week, the campaign’s high point of the year. Organisations across the country are strengthening their impact and showcasing their commitment to lifelong learning.
L&W has been marking the week with high-profile events, including the Get the Nation Learning Awards ceremony and the release of its latest Adult Participation in Learning Survey results. As part of our Strategic Partnership with L&W, Ufi is proud to have supported the Learning with Technology Award at the ceremony earlier this week.
“When adults learn, our society and economy thrive. Growth, productivity, good work, resilient communities, fuller and richer lives. These are just some of the benefits lifelong learning can bring. Despite this, public investment in adult learning has declined dramatically in the last decade. The same is true for employer investment in workplace training, with large inequalities in who accesses learning opportunities. As changes in technology leave us all needing new skills and know-how for life inside and outside of work, levels of learning cannot continue to languish. It’s time to turn the tide. It’s time to get the nation learning. We’re delighted that Ufi has joined the movement.”
- Stephen Evans, Chief Executive at L&W
