VocTech Together launches to increase adoption of proven vocational technology
Vocational technology is already improving learning, training and access to skills across the UK. But while the tools exist, too often they remain under‑used, fragmented or limited to well-funded sectors or learners – restricting their reach and long‑term impact.
Today, Ufi announces the launch of VocTech Together, a £2.85 million programme designed to tackle that challenge head on. The programme brings together organisations, employers, technologists and policymakers around a shared objective: to move from pockets of effective use to deeper, more confident adoption of VocTech at greater scale so it genuinely works for learners, organisations and employers.
Backed by a significant long‑term investment, VocTech Together combines Ufi's funding and expertise with new partnerships and evidence‑building to support sustained, systemic change. The focus is practical and collaborative, recognising that adoption is as much about confidence, capability and context as it is about the technology itself.
“Vocational technology has a vital role to play in helping adults learn, develop skills and thrive in work, and in shaping a workforce that supports long‑term, inclusive economic benefit. Through VocTech Together we are focused on turning potential into impact, by supporting organisations to embed technology well, learn from what works, and overcome the barriers that slow progress. We intend to work across places, sectors and learning communities to see system-wide impact, building on our past success of supporting vocational technology that makes a difference at scale.”
Rather than offering a single pathway or solution, VocTech Together is designed to engage organisations at different stages of adoption, from those taking their first steps with vocational technology, to those ready to implement at scale across places, sectors or learner communities. The programme includes:
- A support programme to help smaller, learner‑facing organisations adopt vocational technology with confidence, strengthening learning experiences and skills outcomes
- A grant fund to enable organisations ready for deeper change to embed new technology into everyday practice, supporting progression and workforce development
- Impact Partnerships to demonstrate how VocTech can be adopted at scale across a place or sector
- A programme of evidence and impact to strengthen practice, inform decision‑making and influence policy

The £2.85m programme signals a clear ambition: to move beyond isolated initiatives and create the conditions for widespread, effective adoption of vocational technology that benefits learners, organisations and the wider economy.
Ufi will be sharing insights and successes from VocTech Together with policy-makers and adopters of all types, from training providers to employers, to encourage them to further amplify the economic and social contribution that vocational technology can make.
