At Ufi, we believe technology can transform how people learn and gain skills for work. Through our funding, investments, partnerships and advocacy, we support organisations that are improving skills, opening up opportunities and helping people and businesses thrive.
But creating change is only part of the story. We also want to understand the difference that change makes. By gathering evidence, learning from experience and sharing insights, we build a clearer picture of the impact being created across the UK skills system.
Looking beyond activity to outcomes
The organisations we support are tackling a wide range of challenges, from helping people develop new skills and progress in work to enabling employers to build more capable and productive workforces. Understanding the outcomes and longer-term benefits of this work helps us make better decisions, improve future practice and strengthen the case for investment in vocational technology.
Our approach combines different forms of evidence. We use evaluation to understand what works, annual reporting to share progress and learning, and social value frameworks to help identify and communicate the wider benefits created through our activities and those of the organisations we support.
Together, these approaches provide a richer understanding of our contribution to improving skills for work and the role technology can play in creating positive change.
