News by Stephen Hinde, Community Manager for Ufi VocTech Trust
Award-winning digital recruitment app SonicJobs has secured a £750,000 investment that includes a £150,000 from Ufi Ventures.
The funding will support SonicJobs’ continued growth in helping candidates in blue-collar sectors develop their career by helping them to recognise the skills they have and how these match jobs they are able to do.
Alongside funding from Ufi Ventures, which invests in early-stage companies developing vocational technologies, SonicJobs have also secured investment from the UK Government’s Future Fund and existing investors Velocity Capital and JetSynthesys.
SonicJobs service uses a best-in-class technology to help jobseekers recognise the skills that they have, find and apply for relevant high-quality jobs, and to develop new skills to improve their employability and career progression.
Joe Ludlow, Impact Investment Director for Ufi Ventures said:
Technology is rapidly changing the way people work, and the way employers recruit, retain and develop their workforce.
Covid-19 has accelerated this whilst simultaneously seeing many more people seeking new jobs. In this context, workers need tools which help them articulate their skills, find high-quality roles, and chart a course to developing their career.
Employers need high-quality candidates, and effective ways of attracting them in a mobile-first environment. Sonic jobs is building a high-quality, highly innovative service for workers and employers and we are happy to be supporting the company during its sonic-speed growth.
Mikhil Raja, CEO at SonicJobs said:
We’re really happy to have Ufi working with us, not just for the impact investment funding, but also for the expert support and industry knowledge that they have built within their VocTech community.
SonicJobs is focussed on helping candidates in blue-collar sectors build their careers, which includes finding a job, but also goes beyond that in helping our community upskill, learn and share knowledge. Ufi's mission of creating better adult vocational skills is very well aligned with ours and I am looking forward to taking the business to the next level together.
