Ufi appoint new Director of Ufi Ventures
Ufi Ventures, the UK’s specialist investor in technology to support adult skills and learning for work, is proud to announce Helen Gironi as their new Director.
Helen will take on leadership of the team within an extremely active market, with round sizes and valuations in EdTech and HRTech at record highs.
Helen has been investing in early-stage ventures since 2002 and early-stage impact ventures since 2016. As one of Ufi Venture’s current Venture Partners, Helen already works with several of the fund’s portfolio investments, including sitting on the board of Learnerbly who recently closed their $10m Series A funding round.
Helen said:
"It's a great privilege to join Ufi Ventures, particularly at a time of accelerated use of digital learning and fast-paced innovation. Our recent decision to make pre-seed investments significantly strengthens our position to support a broad range of companies; making learning for work more effective and accessible and delivering better opportunities and outcomes for individuals, employers and the UK as a whole".
Prior to working at Ufi Ventures Helen was Investment Director at Nesta Impact Investments, where she led several investments in high-growth businesses (Applied, Third Space Learning and Oomph) and managed successful exits for the fund (Applied and Reconnections).
Rebecca Garrod-Waters, CEO of Ufi VocTech Trust, the organisation behind Ufi Ventures said:
“We’re extremely pleased by Helen’s appointment to the role of Director for Ufi Ventures. Helen’s insight, experience and commitment to our impact-focussed investment approach further strengthens Ufi’s ability to catalyse a fundamental shift in how individuals, employers and the UK as a whole view, embrace and benefit from vocational skills development through digital innovation.”
