Over recent years the labour market has undergone major changes that are impacting the UK's ability to deliver the skills it needs.
There are complex barriers to learning which have resulted in too few people learning new skills and those with lower levels of qualifications or furthest from learning getting left behind.
At a time when the economy is also rapidly transitioning - fuelled by digitisation, automation and decarbonisation - we want to invest in digital solutions that can scale across the UK and provide the skills needed by the economy and the workforce of today and tomorrow.
Introducing the Ufi Ventures Challenge Fund
The Ufi Ventures Challenge Fund is designed to support early-stage companies with an ambition to use vocational technology to make a positive and scalable impact on skills development for our economy in transition.
Investment starts at £250k, with follow-on investment available.
We are specifically looking for businesses that have a product already in the market, with early signals of commercial viability and solid plans in place for growth.
The Ufi Ventures Challenge Fund is a new and distinct pool of capital from Ufi, designed to direct meaningful investment to emerging businesses looking to make deep impact on skills development for the transitioning economy.
Investments made from the new fund will have access to the same network and resources as our core Ufi Ventures fund.
